Reconciling in Christ Congregations, Synods and MinistriesSince 1984, the Reconciling In Christ program of LC/NA has provided a way for Lutheran churches to state their desire to practice the radical hospitality of the Gospel and welcome people of all sexual orientations and gender identities in the life and ministry of their congregation. Congregations, ministries and synods participating in the Reconciling in Christ program make an explicit commitment to provide a safe and welcoming place for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. This commitment is called an ‘Affirmation Of Welcome’. Read a sample affirmation of welcome. To find a Reconciling In Christ congregation near you please visit our list of RIC congregations and ministries in Canada and in North America Resources including RIC brochures, and the “Inclusive Faith” video is available online for congregations seeking information about how they can become a Reconciling in Christ congregation. RIC Leadership Training is available through Lutherans Concerned/North America. Reconciling In Christ Sunday is the last Sunday of January. Online worship resources are available at the LC/NA website. If your congregation is seeking a guest speaker or preacher to educate your congregation about the RIC program please contact us for more information. We would welcome the opportunity to put you in contact with someone who can be a resource for your congregation or ministry. |
