LCIC Solidarity Appeal for Funds

May 2007

Lutherans Concerned in Canada needs your help! This 21 – 24 June 2007, delegates will gather in Winnipeg for the ELCIC’s National Convention.

Delegates will vote on a motion put forward by National Church Council authorizing synods “to devise mission strategies appropriate to their regional settings” and encouraging “synods to develop ways to best minister to people who live in committed same&sex relationships, including the possibility of blessing such unions”. This is an exciting moment for our church! We believe that this regional mission motion could open up many avenues for mission within the diverse synodical contexts of our ELCIC.

Lutherans Concerned in Canada is working in partnership with our supporters to encourage the passage of this mission motion. Our presence and work at the Winnipeg ELCIC convention, including the presence and support of Emily Eastwood, LC/NA Executive Director, LC/NA CoChair Len Weiser, and Communications Director Phil Soucy, will require additional financial support and resources.

Please support our work for a more inclusive and just church by making a special donation today to Lutherans Concerned in Canada . Your contribution will help give shape to a church which “does justice, loves kindness, and walks humbly with our God” (Micah 6:8).
